Wow. What a sound. What a car.

I've only recently come across these videos. I have a 61 Metropolitan and was very interested in the results as well. I see these videos have some age on them. Would love to see more videos, along with an in depth walk thru of what all was done to it, and more racing videos from inside and outside around corners and passing. Not much out there on the Metropolitans and the options one has available to him without a complete main train delete and donor transplant with fabrication. Especially when it comes to successfully using original main train, enabling one to pull out in front of traffic without piss running down your leg. I bought a Vmaxx supercharger I am about to put on mine, but with the small valves I don't expect to get much out of it. Just hoping to get enough to run an AC is the short goal. BUT when the motor is in need of refreshing, plan to up the ante, and would have loved to have gotten a little expert advice from someone who has already went through all the sweat and tears successfully and professionally.

The few times I have heard the Goodwood commentators talk about the PV they always are amazed people race with it. As a Swede, I find their amusement hilarious.

Four cylinder ALFAs are fine, but there is nothing like the elegance of a straight six. Wish ALFA would manufacture the six or eight again in an affordable coupe. Won't happen due to the electric car NAZIs.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in EU :-( In Germany the Green party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one gasstation per city. :-(

I want to use a warmed over MGB 1800 in my Met, but I want to upgrade the suspension as well, thinking of replacing it all with "B" stuff. And using a Datsun 5 speed conversion.

My dream engine to work on when I used to have Alfas! I only ever saw one of these engines, lying in the back yard of of some random guy, could have been where the brother of Serge Damseaux lived. (back in the late 80s/early 90s)

Looks like a real handful, but by the way he is passing those big Jags, they would be the same.

The old man who kept that Metropolitan all original is rolling over in his grave. My advice would be to bury the old man under the hood of the Metropolitan and let him turn the driveshaft with his rolling power.

An article on John Rhodes' car said the rear was fitted with bump stops to induce 'tail out' (oversteer) + camber/toe adjustments. Rhodes would lift off the gas and quickly plant the accelerator , hence 'lift off oversteer' as in FWD. His 'smokin' style of driving had the tyres up to 120degrees C !!! John Cooper said he was the best Mini driver......
